TRUMPF Ranked First in Sheet Metal Fabrication

In the list of the top European machine tool manufacturers with regard to machine tools in the sheet metal fabrication and forming technology sectors, TRUMPF is way out in front as the clear leader. This was the result of a ranking carried out by the German weekly magazine PRODUKTION that was published in its April 26, 2001 edition.
"After outstanding annual growth rates in past years, the Ditzingen company achieved sales in fiscal 1999/2000 (30.6) of roughly 892.5 million Euros, equivalent to a 20-percent rise on the previous year" - thus runs the magazine's title story on the TRUMPF Group, which is headquartered in Ditzingen, Germany.
TRUMPF is a leading manufacturer of machine tools for flexible sheet metal and material fabrication. Its core activities include machines for punching, nibbling and forming, for laser cutting, combination processing, bending and water jet cutting. Furthermore the company is world market leader for laser processing systems and lasers for industrial production. With nearly 40 subsidiaries and holdings, the group of companies maintains a presence in almost all countries of Europe, North and South America, and also Asia. Worldwide, TRUMPF has over 5000 employees.
This is the first time that the German magazine has drawn up a ranking for machine tools in the sheet metal fabrication and forming technology sectors. Part of its aim is to throw light on market activity in Europe. With this ranking, in which companies' annual sales play a decisive role, PRODUKTION magazine says it wants to contribute toward "objectivizing, analyzing and assessing market activity - it's like holding up a mirror to the whole sector once every year."
