Companies Gain From Less Backup and Recovery Time, Reduced Hardware and Software Costs, and Seamless User Experience with Latest Addition to IXOS-eCON Solution Suite
IXOS SOFTWARE AG (NASDAQ: "XOSY", NEUER MARKT: "XOS", German Securities Code Number (WKN) 506150), a leading global provider of solutions for eBusiness document management, announced the immediate availability of IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes. The latest addition to the IXOS-eCON Solution Suite is an effective e-mail management solution that stores e-mails and Notes applications securely in the IXOS-eCONserver. With IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes, backups and recoveries are quicker, and hardware and software costs are reduced as a result of saved space. With this solution, Lotus Notes retains an optimum performance level even when processing large volumes of data. IXOS-eCONserver for LotusNotes is available immediately worldwide.
According to research from IDC, the number of person-to-person e-mails sent on an average day is expected to exceed 36 billion worldwide in 2005. As a result, e-mail and application databases will grow exponentially, and in many companies this is already the case. With IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes, administrators can now manage this enormous volume of data while minimizing costs and labor, and simultaneously ensure user satisfaction with quick and easy access to pertinent documents and e-mails.
"With IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes, administrators are able to control the total cost of ownership for Lotus Notes," said Peter Röscher, Product Line Manager at IXOS. "With our solution, backups and recoveries take less time, and there is no need to install new Notes servers or expensive hardware. Users benefit from a leaner Notes server as they can access documents quickly -- and it's completely seamless, requiring absolutely no training."
IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes stores e-mail, attachments or even entire folders on inexpensive media. The documents are either automatically or interactively archived in the IXOS-eCONserver directly from Lotus Notes. Users continue to work in their familiar environment -- they simply read, process and forward e-mails in Lotus Notes as they have always done.
Structured archiving takes an additional load off the Notes server, as e-mails and folders are joined into structures and archived as entities. All that remains in the Notes system is an overview document that takes up very little space.
IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes is seamlessly integrated with Lotus Notes and does not need to be installed on Notes servers or clients. The software is quickly implemented and easily managed.
Product of the IXOS-eCON Solution Suite IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus Notes is part of the IXOS-eCON Solution Suite, which spans all aspects of document management both within an enterprise and among business partners.
