European Industry in Micro- and Nanotechnologies - Ready for take off

Companies and Institutes from more than 20 countries in Europe met last week for the first Brokerage and Information Event of MINAM, MINAM (Micro- and Nanomanufacturing) is a Subplatform of the European Technology Platform Manufuture.
Projects for cooperative research and industrial solutions were presented on 20 topics in nanomaterials, production technologies, advanced integrated nanobased products, metrology and process control. From European Commission Christos Tokamanis, Hans Hartmann Pedersen, Giorgios Katalagarianakis, Mykola Dzubinsky and Dr. Per Martin Schmidt presented funding opportunities in the 7th Framework to the 133 attendees and guided interested proposers to the calls in NMP and ICT work programme with focus in Micro- and Manomanufacturing.
Following this event all detailed powerpoints are online at the web platform and MINAM continues to offer direct service online match making for project proposals and partners at www.micronanomanufacturing.eu. More than 400 stakeholders today are contributing to a fast growth of R&D excellence in Europe combined with direct transfer into industrial products. MINAM is supported by Fraunhofer IPA, Euspen, VDMA, ITIA, microTEC Gesellschaft für Mikrotechnologie mbH and the projects µSapient, IPMMAN and 4M.
About MINAM - the Manufuture Sub-Platform Micro- and NanoManufacturing. This industry led body seeks to bring together a wide range of public and private stakeholders focused around this strategically important area. With a primary objective to enhance European industrial competitiveness, MINAM aims to address the definition of a Strategic Research Agenda setting out medium to long term objectives for this area as well as its subsequent implementation.
