Frankfurt Airport Ranked as "Europe's Most Efficient and Important Air Cargo Hub"
Frankfurt, Germany (ots)
Frankfurt Airport - owned and managed by Fraport AG - has been named Europe's most efficient and important air cargo hub by the U.K.-based AirCargo News. This is the first time that the bi-weekly trade publication has prepared such a ranking. AirCargo News' jury of editors compared airports in each major region. Decisive factors in the jury's choice were Frankfurt Airport's facilities for handling and storing cargo goods of all types and sizes, its versatile daily flight schedule, its critical mass of cargo services and its excellent links to rail and road networks. Along with FRA in Europe, Hong Kong was chosen the best air cargo hub in Asia, Dubai in the Middle East and Calgary in North America. With about 100,000 readers worldwide, AirCargo News calls itself the leading trade publication of the international airfreight industry. Fraport AG's Cargo Logistics department accepted the award last Saturday in London, at an event hosted by AirCargo News and the British Air Cargo Club for over 1,000 guests.
