Adconion and Goldbach Media sign Partnership: Goldbach Media expands performance marketing
Partnership with Adconion Media Group - exclusive use and joint development of proprietary technology - new online marketing models with high margins - continuously strong growth in online advertising - investments in all Goldbach markets - double-digit EBIT growth expected from 2011 onwards.
Küsnacht, 20 November 2009. The Goldbach Media Group, active in ten countries and the leading advertising marketer for private electronic, interactive and mobile media has signed a partnership and licensing agreement with the Adconion Media Group, the world's largest independent online advertising site representation and online advertising network. Through this partnership Goldbach Media has exclusive use of proprietary targeting and optimization technology for performance marketing, enabling the launch of network-centric online marketing models in Switzerland, Austria and across its Eastern European markets. The partnership is strategic and longterm, an equity stake is not envisaged. With its dual strategy, Goldbach Media plans to complement its classic site representation business for display advertising with the launch of high margin performance-oriented and network-centric marketing models in the growing market for online marketing.
The American-European Adconion Media Group ({www.adconion.com}[HYPERLINK: http://www.adconion.com]) with 16 subsidiaries in the US, Australia and five European markets is the world's largest independent online advertising network. With its proprietary targeting and optimization technology developed at its development center in Santa Monica, California, Adconion reaches worldwide over 300 million or one third of all global internet users with the second largest global reach after Google. (comScore)
The partnership creates a combined online site representation and advertising network with a global reach of close to 400 million internet user which delivers over 20 billion ad impressions per month.
Performance marketing has developed into a highly profitable growth driver in the online segment. With the deployment of the technology developed by Adconion, Goldbach Media plans to quickly develop new performance-oriented and network-centric marketing models in Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe.
Complementary to its classic site representation business Goldbach Media aggregates through the Adconion network centric technology user segments and target groups that are addressed through its proprietary targeting and optimizing technology.
The network centric online advertising model serves as a marketplace between advertising platforms, audiences, and advertisers.
Adconion and Goldbach Media are companies which also complement one another in terms of market coverage. Adconion is represented with subsidiaries in the USA, Australia, Britain, Germany, France and Spain, while Goldbach Media has a strong market position in Switzerland and Austria, as well as Southeast and Eastern Europe.
Goldbach Media will invest in the implementation of performance-oriented, network-centric marketing models over the coming year. A dual strategy will be pursued, with Goldbach Media continuing as a classic online advertising representative for premium inventory while also establishing high margin, performance-oriented, network-centric marketing models. The company thus expects substantial profit contributions with continuing sales growth in the online segment from 2011 onwards, following the transitional year 2010 - and thus the return of double-digit EBIT growth.
"Goldbach Media is superbly positioned in its traditional markets as well as in Southeast and Eastern Europe," says Klaus Kappeler, CEO of Goldbach Media. "We will continue to ceomplement our position as a classic site representative through technological leadership in the area of performance-oriented and network-centric marketing models. In so doing, we will attain higher margins. The online market has shown double-digit growth, and particularly in Eastern Europe, it still has a lot of catching up to do."
