Nürnberg, January 10, 2005. GfK Group has today sold its 50 % participation in IHA-IMS Health GmbH, Switzerland to IMS Health. The company offers retail information concerning the sale of medicine and consultancy and information services to customers of the pharma and health industry in Switzerland.
The positive net effect for the income from participations of GfK Group in 2005 will amount to approximately 22 million Euro.
At the same time GfK has acquired the remaining 20 % which IMS Health held in GPI, Germany. GPI analyses communication activities of the pharmaceutical industry for prescription and non-prescription medicine.
With these steps GfK Group focusses its activities on the core area of the young business field of HealthCare.
