In the first six months of the current financial year Pongs & Zahn
Aktiengesellschaft achieved sales at the consolidated Group level
totalling EUR 41,104,000 (2005, Pongs & Zahn AG: EUR 28,444,000), 100
percent of which were accounted for by the plastics segment. The
rapid increase over the first six months of 2005 was based again on
the continued expansion of the plastics trading business with major
international customers and on the consolidation of Group companies
in this segment.. As earnings for the period the Pongs & Zahn Group
is showing a profit for the first six months of 2006 of EUR 974,000
(2005, Pongs & Zahn AG: EUR 400,000). Because of the exercising of
option rights the basic capital of our company as of 30th June 2006
has risen since the closing date for the accounts on 31st March 2005
by EUR 132,000, and now stands at EUR 35,772,000. The Group’s equity
ratio in the first six months of 2006 thus amounted to approximately
56 percent.

Note: Pongs & Zahn Aktiengesellschaft is reporting since its
quarterly report as of 31st March 2006 under the International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in the form applicable in the
EU. This means that the figures are no longer comparable with those
for earlier reporting periods. The following companies, in addition
to Pongs & Zahn AG, are included in the Group consolidated accounts:
PONACHEM Compound GmbH, Hamburg (90 % share-ownership), VALUE PLAST
AG, Munich (100 % share-ownership) and ALTUS Service GmbH, Hamburg
(100 % share-ownership).
