Successor to Walter Steuri as CEO of Jungfrau Railways
Interlaken (ots)
Jungfrau Railways are seeking a new CEO. An advertisement will appear in various Swiss newspapers on 17 and 18 August 2007. As has been known since 2006, Walter Steuri, CEO/Management Board Chairman of Jungfrau Railways will retire at the end of August 2008.
The 62-year-old has worked for Jungfrau Railways since 1975, initially as head of finance and from 1994 as chairman of the six-member management board.
Jungfrau Railways comprises the Jungfraubahn Holding AG, Switzerland's largest rail & cableway company, and the Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG, both of which are listed on the Stock Exchange. Jungfrau Railways has a total of over 700 employees.
A committee consisting of members of the executive boards of the Jungfraubahn Holding AG and Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG has been engaged in the search for a successor. Now follows the next stage: advertisements will be placed in various German and French-speaking Swiss newspapers so as to reach as wide a circle of potential candidates as possible.
The search is on for an experienced person with managerial and business acumen, who will ensure the financial success of the company in a competitive environment. Applications will be requested by the end of August, after which the evaluation of internal and external candidates will involve a considerable period of time.
