On Wednesday 18 March 2009, the Jungfraubahn Holding AG will present the figures for the 2008 business year at its financial statement media conference in Zurich. The Jungfrau Railway Group, the mountain transport company with the largest revenue in Switzerland, closed the year 2008 with the second largest annual profit in its history. Despite exceptional charges, the annual profit for 2008 is CHF 21 million and thus on a par with the record year of 2007. The key figures are as follows:

At the end of February, Jungfrau Railways recorded a total reduction of 13,700 visitors (-30.2%) in the Jungfraujoch business segment. Visitor numbers are thus similar to those of 2005 and 2006. However, only about 5% of the total annual number of visitors is transported in these two months. The two peak-season months of July and August 2009 will have a significant effect on the overall result.
Financial statement media conference At the financial statement media conference in Zurich, Prof. Dr. Thomas Bieger, Executive Board Chairman, Urs Kessler, CEO and Christoph Seiler, Director of Finance and Controlling, will comment on the annual financial statement. Thomas Bieger will also speak in more detail on the financial crisis and its effects on tourism as well as the Jungfrau Railway Premium project. Urs Kessler will comment on the effects of the financial crisis on the Asian markets, on the last and current business year and on events that are planned.

2009 Annual General Meeting (AGM) The AGM will be held on 25 May 2009 at 14.00 hrs at the Kursaal in Interlaken. The executive board will propose to the meeting the election of Bruno Hofweber as the successor to Peter Bohren.
