Hönle (ISIN: DE 0005157101), a leading provider of industrial UV technology systems, has succeeded in continuing its course of growth as from the beginning of the financial year. Quarterly sales increased by 30 percent in comparison to the previous years quarter. Overall, sales for the first three quarters were TEUR 11,744 or 21 percent up on the previous years quarter.
The Groups income figures were also further expanded both in comparison to the second quarter of the current financial year as well as in comparison to the previous years period. EBIT rose from TEUR -866 in the previous year to TEUR 537 in the first nine months of the current financial year. In view of the still restrained demand for capital goods, the Group considers its present business development with a 5 percent EBIT margin to be positive. In comparison to the same period in the previous year, EBT and net income saw a rise from TEUR -392 and TEUR -249 respectively to TEUR 995 and TEUR 1,049. Relative to 5.24 million shares, earnings per share climbed from EUR -0.05 in the previous year to EUR 0.20 this year.
The Hönle Group is still very solidly financed: the capital ratio is 86 percent. Liquid funds amount to TEUR 14,864 as at 30 June 2003, and financial assets are TEUR 579; this corresponds to an equivalent value of EUR 2.95 per share.
Outlook The third quarter was characterized by a strong increase in incoming orders. At the end of June 2003, the Dr. Hönle AG order volume was the highest ever in the 27 years of the firms history. We therefore expect that the fourth quarter will perform best in this financial year and that the results at year-end will probably be significantly up on those of the end of the third quarter. Among other things, the newly acquired key accounts are expected to make a positive contribution to sales and income development in the coming financial year.
