As became clear over the past few days, an authorized signatory of AvW carried out security transactions for AvW group AG but not AvW Invest AG without the knowledge and approval of the board of directors. This employee has been reported to the authorities and is currently under investigation by the Economic Offence Police Department. The transactions in question are very complex in nature such that a possible involvement of the banks concerned is examined.
AvW Invest AG, which is listed on the stock exchange, is not affected by these transactions. It is important to strictly distinguish between the incidents that are currently being examined and that occurred within AvW group AG which issues participating certificates and the assets of AvW Invest AG, which is listed on the stock exchange and whose securities have not been affected by the malpractice as far as is known so far.
AvW has already reported this fact to the General Attorney and has entered into talks with the Financial Market Supervising Authority. The facts of the instant case are being carefully scrutinized by both legal experts and auditors in order to clarify the situation as quickly as possible in the interest of any investors and other parties concerned.
