LINTEC continues refocusing on core business; Bluetooth activities of subsidiary rfi AG sold (E)

LINTEC subsidiary rfi AG sold its "ANYCOM" business activities to
ANYCOM Technologies GmbH with immediate effect. The transaction is
structured as an asset deal. The new company will continue rfi’s
business activities in connection with bluetooth and GPRS products
and solutions. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the price of
the transaction.
Rfi mobile technologies AG will concentrate in future, with
significantly reduced personnel numbers and costs and according to
concern strategy, on its own brand business.
As part of a MBO the new company ANYCOM Technologies GmbH has been
financed by Brockhaus Private Equity Fonds, Frankfurt, in conjunction
with co-investor and managing director Arnold August. Mr August was a
co-founder of the former rfi parent company ADA-Das Systemhaus and,
after the takeover of rfi by LINTEC, a member of the advisory board
of rfi and later a consultant. The new company acquires all staff,
certain assets and liabilities associated with the bluetooth
activities. The transaction will result in a further reduction of
LINTEC’s concern liabilities and an improvement of operating results
in the concern.
Rfi’s business activities were, despite significant investments in
this area, increasingly loss generating. The disposal is therefore a
consequence of the comprehensive restructuring process at LINTEC
Information Technologies AG, which is aimed at refocusing on margin
generating activities and the disposal of loss making areas.
