Rockliffe Announces MailSite NS
Carrier-Grade Messaging Running 24 x 7 on HP NonStop Servers
LAS VEGAS, NV (ots)
NetWorld + Interop, Booth 6842 - Rockliffe, Inc., a leading developer of messaging and email infrastructure software, today announced its latest offering for service providers and enterprises with the addition of MailSite NS to its family of products. The Rockliffe MailSite NS utilizes HP ProLiant servers, running the Microsoft(r) Windows 2000 Server operating system, as the front-end application server and the HP NonStop server as the back-end database server, offering enterprise customers a robust carrier-grade solution for their mission-critical email messaging services.
Developed by Rockliffe to run on HP NonStop servers, MailSite NS offers a true 24 x 7 continuous availability, super-scalable messaging solution with built-in spam filtering and virus scanning software. MailSite NS offers customization via a wide-range of APIs, plug-ins and agents. By using MailSite Express, the full-featured, multi-language, webmail client and MailSite Pocket, the WAP compliant wireless email client, a low-cost email solution becomes accessible anytime, anywhere.
"We are very excited about bringing this product to market. It is a good marriage of resources. HP NonStop servers are noted for their reliability as is MailSite," said John Davies, president and CEO of Rockliffe.
Rockliffe plans to target with HP large telecom companies and service providers as well as smaller sized businesses looking for a fault-tolerant email and messaging system that scales reliably and cost effectively to more than 20 million mailboxes.
David Ferris of Ferris Research remarked, "Smaller and medium-size ISPs who want to expand their customer base need a services platform that can reliably grow to fit their needs. The HP NonStop platform, typically used as a transaction processing system, is already widely deployed by telecom companies and service providers. HP NonStop systems are attractive for deploying messaging systems such as Rockliffe's MailSite NS product because of their fault tolerance, continuous availability, and unlimited scalability."
"In addition to large telecom companies and service providers, we're targeting this solution for manufacturers, retailers and other large companies that have not been able to make email available to every employee -- whether on the shop floor, the retail point of sale, or the individual customer service or repair person," said Pauline Nist, vice president, HP NonStop Enterprise Division. "We expect these customers to be delighted to learn that a simple, reliable and low cost-per-mailbox alternative is now available to them."
According to market research firm IDC, the overall worldwide demand for email messaging applications will grow from $1.1 billion in 2001 to $4 billion in 2006 (I).
