Surface technology competence extended
Neudörfl, Austria, August 5, 2002: HTP High Tech Plastics AG is teaming up with German company Krüth GmbH to form a joint venture for molding and etching technology. The two companies each hold 50% of SET Form-Ätz-Technik GmbH, which is domiciled at HTPs site in Fohnsdorf. The new company will primarily serve the European automotive and electronics industry.
The combination of Krüths surface-etching expertise and HTPs tooling skills will make it possible to accommodate sophisticated surface designs for the final product during the tool-development stage. Already supplied for many years on a joint basis, customers such as Audi, Philips, Flextronics, Magna, Seeber and others will receive even more flexible and comprehensive services via the new joint venture in the future. The companys target is for sales of roughly EUR 1 million this year, with high growth expected over the next few years on the strength of its planned expansion into Eastern Europe.
The establishment of this joint venture marks a further step in HTP High Tech Plastics AGs plans to extend its value chain, one of the key goals of its corporate strategy.
