Solar-Fabrik AG (ISIN: DE0006614712) has finished the first quarter within expectations. The extraordinary expenses from the successful capital increase in March of this year in the amount of EUR 1,225,000 significantly influenced earnings after taxes, which amounted to minus EUR 1,988,000. This capital increase provided the Company with net proceeds exceeding EUR 30 million.
The management at Solar-Fabrik managed to secure the supply of solar cells for 2005. At the end of April, the purchase of raw materials to cover the supply for 2005 was announced. Solar-Fabrik AG purchases solar wafers, which has its suppliers process into solar cells. The Company has thus ensured that the record sales of 2004 will be increased even further in 2005. In addition, the management at Solar-Fabrik AG is working hard to expand the supply of raw materials for 2006 and afterwards. At the beginning of July, it will be able to announce its future strategic focus.
We are certain that the measures discussed above will continue to improve results over the course of the year.
