The Supervisory Board of MIM MONDO IGEL MEDIA AG approved a number of agreements with the French company Xilam Animation SA (a leading French company in the audiovisual sector) which determine the complete split of the rights on 6 animated TV series which were owned to date by the two companies in a quota of 50% respectively. The split of the rights should increase the possibility of commercial exploitation of the series.
The agreements were made also with the specific strategic aim of optimising the commercial distribution by granting each company the distribution rights in the respectively more strategic markets.
In detail, the agreements provide for the acquisition by MIM MONDO IGEL MEDIA AG of the totality of the rights - from 31 August and for the entire period of copyright - of 2 TV series of 26 half-hour episodes each for which Xilam will keep distribution rights in the French-speaking countries.
Furthermore, the agreements provide for the cession by MIM AG to Xilam of its quota on the rights to the 4 other series, on two of which MIM will keep its distribution rights in a number of European markets (Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece for both series and certain additional territories including UK and Ireland, and Asia excluding Japan on one series only).
