Engineers may now access Tilcon's development suite from their Tornado(r) IDE to build applications utilizing Wind River's VxWorks real-time operating system.
Tilcon, an Associate in the WindLink Partner Program, leverages 14 years of real-time and embedded interface development to bring customers intuitive and feature rich tools that make user interface development on VxWorks fast and easy. Screens are built with drag & drop simplicity with easy customization using object property forms. One click of the test button and the user interface is simulated without writing a single line of code. Tilcon's comprehensive C/C++ API library (identical across platforms) is used to dynamically drive (send/receive/update/create) the user interface objects by tying them to their data source and gives the developer fine tune control over the appearance and behavior of graphical objects at runtime. The graphics engine is compact, scalable, event-driven, easily embedded and supports remote display. Tilcon takes full advantage of Wind River's powerful WindML(tm) 2D graphics library and the result is graphically impressive user interfaces with exceptional responsiveness.
The rich palette of objects and tools includes over 40 unique raw draw objects (line, polygon, bezier, arc, circle and all flowchart symbols), gradiant fills colors, images, alarms. All standard GUI objects are provided (buttons, text, tree, table, combobox, multi-column listbox, numberbox, radio buttons, menus, pop -up and others).Tilcon's HMI objects such as slider, charts, animation, gauges, meters, scales, multi-state objects are unrivalled in the industry and make it a snap to create stunning displays and instrument clusters. The close integration of graphics and user interface objects makes it easy for designers and developers to work together in branding a custom look and feel.
Tilcon's OPC client module supports Tornado for Industrial Automation OPC servers. An ODBC module to connect to ODBC compliant databases is also available. With Tilcon's connectivity and multiple platform support developers now have a fully integrated HMI solution for their Vx Works based industrial automation applications.
Also available from Tilcon is a powerful mapping module fully integrated with the user interface greatly simplifying development of GPS and GIS enabled applications making it a powerful solution for a wide range of devices that need to integrate geographic data.
