Following its takeover of Alpha Umwelttechnik, SW Umwelttechnik is to concentrate all the Austrian activities its Water Conservation sector in SW Umwelttechnik Industrie GmbH. The move is aimed at tightening the focus of the groups marketing effort and improving its earning power in Austria.
The Austrian operations of SW Umwelttechnik Stoiser & Wolschner AG, Alpha Umwelttechnik and BW Nageler are being merged into a new company, SW Umwelttechnik Industrie GmbH, this year.
Vienna listed SW Umwelttechnik Stoiser & Wolschner AG wholly owns Klagenfurt based Alpha Umwelttechnik, and currently holds a 50% stake in precast element and environmental product manufacturer Nageler GmbH, domiciled in Lienz, East Tyrol. The other 50% of Nageler are owned by the Rieder Group of Maishofen, Salzburg Province, which will be transferring its holding in the company to SW Umwelttechnik Industrie GmbH following the adoption of the related resolutions by the General Meeting of SW Umwelttechnik AG on 20 May. Following a capital increase, the Rieder Group will receive a 26% interest in this operating company in return. A letter of intent to this effect has been signed by SW Umwelttechnik and the Rieder Group.
The changes will make SW Umwelttechnik a pure holding company, while the expanded operating subsidiary, SW Umwelttechnik Industrie, will be free to concentrate on developing its markets, and will be able to achieve cost savings due to the simplified group structure and business processes. With its five sites two in Klagenfurt and one each in Sierning, Lambach and Lienz SW Umwelttechnik Industrie will be the leader in a number of important segments of the Austrian water conservation and infrastructure products markets.
The groups market and technology leadership in Austria gives it a strong platform for further development in the growth markets of Central and Eastern Europe where it already generates 75% of its revenue. Construction of the most modern pipe works in Hungary and of a production facility for sewerage, pipe and shaft systems in Romania will mark further advances in the SW Umwelttechniks expansion drive over the next few years.
