Hamburg, November 19th, 2003 - As of September 30, broadnet
mediascape had been able to improve its EBITDA for the first nine
months of 2003 by 89.5 % over the same period in the previous year to
minus TEUR 450 (previous year: minus TEUR 4,272). In the third
quarter of 2003, broadnet mediascape posted an EBITDA of minus TEUR
91, compared to an EBITDA of minus TEUR 474 in the second quarter -
an improvement of 80.8 %. In September, the company posted its first
positive EBITDA from current operations and without one-off effects,
in the amount of TEUR 56. The Group’s EBIT in the first nine months
of the current fiscal year was minus TEUR 11,404 (previous year:
minus TEUR 7,288). This result is still largely the result of the
great write-offs on wireless equipment from aditions in 2000. These
write-offs will fall sharply in the second half of 2004. From January
until September 2003, broadnet mediascape posted sales of TEUR
18,573, compared to TEUR 10,153 in the same period of the previous
year. Thus, the Group was able to increase its turnover by 82.9 % in
the past 12 months.
