EBITDA at minus TEUR 116 almost positive; operating result improved
by 98.9 %

Growth in turnover of 59.5 % to TEUR 24,895

Hamburg, March 30, 2004 - broadnet mediascape communications AG (ISIN
DE0005490866)  achieved an almost positive EBITDA of minus TEUR 116
for fiscal year 2003 and thus improved its operating result by 98.9 %
compared to the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2003 the
EBITDA was positive for the first time at TEUR 334. The improvement
of the EBITDA was mainly achieved by an increase in revenues and
profit-oriented cost management. In fiscal 2003, broadnet mediascape,
for instance, was able to reduce the other operating expenses from
TEUR 15,407 down to TEUR 7,564, a reduction of 50.9 %, and thus 
could improve the Company’s profitability considerably. The Group’s
EBIT in fiscal amounted to minus TEUR 15,243 after minus TEUR 18,929
in the previous fiscal year, an improvement of 19.5 %. In 2003, the
result was once again affected by the planned burden of great
depreciation on wireless equipment, especially for the subsidiary
Broadnet Deutschland GmbH. This depreciation will drop considerably
in the second half of 2004, thus improving the result sustainably.
broadnet mediascape generated revenues of TEUR 24,895 in fiscal 2003
which represents a growth of 59.5 % in comparison to TEUR 15,609 in
2002. At the end of the year 2003 broadnet mediascape had a high
position in liquid funds amounting to TEUR 29,849 (previous year TEUR
39,770). The company posted equity of TEUR 47,113 (previous year:
62,056). The equity ratio got improved to 82.0 % in comparison to
75.7 % in 2002. The company generated earnings per share of EUR minus
0.96 compared to EUR minus 1.56 in 2002. In fiscal 2003 the company
had an average of 193 employees (previous year: 182). broadnet
mediascape plans to post a sustainable positive EBITDA for fiscal
2004 and expects a growth in turnover.
