Aschheim/Munich, February 2, 2009 - At its meeting on February 2, 2009 the Supervisory Board of ESCADA AG appointed Michael Börnicke (48) as member of the Board of Management of ESCADA AG with immediate effect. Mr. Börnicke will accompany the current reorientation of the company and take over financial responsibility after a transition phase.
Mr. Börnicke brings with him many years of expertise in the commercial business sector. He started his professional career at the Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechsel-Bank in Munich before crossing over to the media industry in 1992. In his capacity as Commercial Director of ProSieben Media AG he played an instrumental role in the company's successful IPO in 1997. In 1998 Mr. Börnicke joined the executive management of Premiere Medien GmbH & Co.KG. As CFO Mr. Börnicke was responsible for Premiere AG´s initial listing. In his last assignment he held the post as CEO of the company.
