LOS ANGELES, CA - 17.03.2004 - MatchNet plc (MHJG: Prime Standard
Frankfurt, MHNZF: Nasdaq OTC), one of the largest providers of online
personals worldwide, announced today the appointments of David
Siminoff and newly appointed CEO Todd Tappin to the Board of
Directors of the Company.

David Siminoff retired recently after ten years with Capital
Research, a Capital Group Company. Capital Group is one of the
world's largest and most successful investment management firms,
overseeing more than USD 500 billion in assets. At Capital Research,
Mr. Siminoff served as a research analyst covering media and Internet
technologies industries. Prior to that, Mr. Siminoff was a broadly
diversified portfolio manager for the Company.

Stanford-MBA David Siminoff brings his extensive financial network
into MatchNet’s Board of Directors and enhances together with Todd
Tappins expertise in finance and capital markets the process of
MatchNet’s Nasdaq listing as well as the Board’s ability to guide the
Company during this period of accelerated growth.

The new Board appointments replace that of previous Directors Florian
Homm and Franklin Urteaga.
