Stuttgart, February 14, 2008 - Heiler Software AG, one of the leading providers of electronic product information solutions and catalogue management systems in-creased consolidated sales revenues in the first quarter of fiscal year 2007/08 (10/01/2007 - 12/31/2007) from 2.51 million Euro to 2.90 million Euro (+16%) and thus realized - based on sales revenues - the strongest first quarter of its corporate history.
The sales growth stems mainly from the consulting business, which increased by 41% to 1.38 million Euro when compared to the corresponding period of the prior year. The hosting and so called Application Service Providing (ASP)-revenues improved from 0.19 million Euro to 0.26 million Euro (+37%) and maintenance revenues improved from 0.38 million Euro to 0.44 million Euro (+16%). Contrary, license revenues decreased from a strong 0.89 million Euro to 0.76 million Euro (-15%) when compared to the prior year.
The planned expansion of the consulting resources and related initial costs as well as temporarily increased development activities are the main reasons for that despite an increase in sales revenues, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) decreased from 0.05 million Euro to -0.09 million Euro when compared to the prior year.
Earnings before taxes and net income each decreased from 0.44 million Euro to 0.07 million Euro. The decrease stems mainly from a lower financial result, which in the first quarter of the prior year was characterized by the special effect from the sale of accumulating money market funds. Accordingly, earnings per share decreased from 0.04 Euro to 0.01 Euro.
