NetCheckIn decides on Gemtek Systems for the E-Plus project
Germany-wide WLAN service for E-Plus to be created based on hotspot solutions from Gemtek Systems
Amsterdam, Landshut, Duesseldorf (ots)
Gemtek Systems, the world's leading provider of solutions for public, wireless internet access systems using WiFi radio network technology, will be the main supplier of the necessary hotspot components for the joint project between NetCheckIn GmbH and the mobile communications operator E-Plus. This project involves the development and operation of a Germany-wide WLAN service for E-Plus.
Gemtek Systems and NetCheckIn announced at the beginning of the year that they would be working together on an extensive scale to utilize the innovative all-encompassing hotspot solutions from Gemtek Systems within the scope of the WLAN locations and services realized and operated by NetCheckIn. This partnership enables both partners to meet the high demands expected of future mobile data services by mobile phone systems companies. To this end, Gemtek Systems will be drawing on the experience gained during the equipping of the world's largest mobile phone operator, China Mobile, to accomplish nationwide integration of WLAN services into the existing GSM-/GPRS network.
Indeed, E-Plus is also set to benefit from the partnership between Gemtek Systems and NetCheckIn in that it will be able to draw on the planned flexible and high-performance WLAN solutions to market additional innovative services at hotspot locations, as well as providing wireless high-speed internet access. And when it comes to compatibility, reliability, maintenance-friendliness and manageability, the WiFi technology supplied by Gemtek Systems meets the high standards expected from telecommunications and mobile phone systems industry. This, in turn, leads to both inexpensive TCO (total cost of ownership) and to a situation in which the entire value-added mobile internet-based services chain can be exploited.
