Pandatel: business development marked by strategic reorientation in H1 2004 (E)

Pandatel AG, Hamburg, has continued to focus on improving Sales and
Development in H1 2004. Moreover, the acquisition of Lightmaze
Solutions AG strongly enhances Pandatel’s optical networking product
portfolio.

On preliminary consideration, business development will be below last
year’s H1 level in H1 2004 in spite of the measures introduced. Yet
it was not possible to reduce the loss incurred in the first quarter
of 2004. Accordingly, at the moment the original sales and profit
planning can no longer be maintained for FY 2004. The enterprise now
expects revenue figures similar to FY 2003. Losses are expected to
reduce by EUR 1m compared to previous year’s results.

Therefore, it became necessary to adjust the sales and profit
planning, mainly attributable to the poor market development in Asia
and America. The devices developed under this year’s product roll-out
will be available from September 2004 as scheduled earlier. Thus,
business will gain momentum in Q4 2004. Moreover, the acquisition of
Lightmaze Solutions AG and the product marketing involved will yield
first results in the same period.

development over the first six months on August 11, 2004.
