Ahrensburg, 24 July 2007 - Basler AG recorded order income for the second quarter of Euro 15.3 million. This represents an increase of 39% over first quarter results and is the second best quarterly result in the company's history. Total order income for the first half year came to Euro 26.3 million. This marks a 16% drop against the previous year's record results which were shaped by block orders placed by the flat screen industry.
Vision Systems marked up first half year orders of Euro 11.8 million (39% down on last year's figures). Euro 8.0 million of orders came in the second quarter heralding the expected pickup of revenue in the second half year. Vision Components recorded first half year order income of Euro 14.5 million - a new record and a 19% increase over last year's figures.
In the light of the order income for the first half year, the Management Board maintains its forecast for the 2007 financial year.
Chief Financial Officer Peter Krumhoff will be leaving Basler AG on 31 August 2007 to join the Management Board of IQ Power AG. The Supervisory Board and Management Board of Basler AG would like to thank Mr. Krumhoff for the amicable and highly fruitful working relationship over the past six years. The recruitment of a possible successor has reached an advanced stage. Until a new CFO is appointed, the post will be provisionally taken over by the company's CEO, Dr. Dietmar Ley.
