Konstanz/Germany, 19 July 2010 - Sunways AG (FSE: SWW; ISIN DE0007332207) has announced changes to the management team of Sunways Production GmbH: at the company´s wholly-owned subsidiary in Arnstadt/Thüringen, high-quality mono- and multicrystalline silicon solar cells are produced by approx. 150 employees. Rainer Lausen will join the firm´s management and, after a transition period, take over the tasks of Dr. Arnd Boueke who transferred to the Kostanz site for personal reasons. In future, Dr. Boueke will head the development activities of Sunways AG in the area of solar cells. Jörg von Strom, member of the Management Board of Sunways AG, will continue to be Managing Director of Sunways Production GmbH.
Rainer Lausen is a graduate engineer and started his career in the semi-conductor production of Philips. In subsequent positions, inter alia in the automotive supply industry, he also gained extensive experience in relation to new manufacturing technologies and the optimization of production processes. Most recently, Lausen was Director Operations at Ersol Solar Energy and in charge of the solar cell production. "Being a convinced advocate of photovoltaics, I am very happy to join the management team of one of the best European solar cell manufacturers. I want to make a contribution towards strengthening and further expanding the position of Sunways as a benchmark in terms of quality and efficiency among European companies," said Lausen with respect to his joining Sunways.
Michael Wilhelm, Chairman of the Management Board of Sunways AG, told the employees in Arnstadt: "I would like to express my thanks to Dr. Boueke for his many years of successfully working on the development of the Group´s Arnstadt plant and its solar cell production activities. I am pleased that, in the person of Mr. Lausen, we have found a very competent successor with substantial industry experience. I am convinced that Dr. Boueke and Mr. Lausen are outstanding experts who will further expand the technological leadership of Sunways in the solar cell production sector.
