e-m-s new media AG attains new record sales in the first
quarter 2004 (E)

In the first quarter 2004, e-m-s new media AG (WKN 521280/ISIN DE0005212807) realized a turnover adjusted by return shipments and proceed detractions in the core Home Entertainment division (DVDs) of 4.69 million Euro. Compared with the same period last year, this constitutes an increase of around 35 percent. In the first quarter 2003, the consolidated turnover inclusive the sale of licence rights amounted to 3.8 million Euro.
With the turnover in the first quarter 2004 e-m-s attained a new quarterly record and even exceeded the - by the Christmas trade favourable influenced - fourth quarter 2003, in which the company realized 3.9 million Euro.
As e-m-s new media AG will bring to account the agreed licence fee not before delivery and acceptance of the material, the TV-revenues of the film "Monster", which have been transacted in the first quarter 2004, have not yet been considered. This is excepted for the second quarter 2004. In the second quarter 2004, e-m-s also expects additional revenues from the theatrical release of the film "Monster" starting on 15. April, in which the Oscar laureate Charlize Theron stars.
