Munich headquartered CURANUM AG has signed a letter of intent (LOI) on the acquisition of a large-scale laundry company located in Kaisersesch near Koblenz. With the takeover, the company will have the opportunity to bundle all laundry services at a conveniently located, central site and offer all laundry services to the majority of CURANUM facilities from a single source. Given the generously dimensioned site that spreads out over some 7,800 square meters, and the option to acquire a neighboring plot of 2,200 square meters, CURANUM AG has the opportunity to set up the planned central logistics center at this location, thereby combining materials and laundry logistics in a cost efficient manner.
The acquisition of existing operations, including all machines and equipment, will cost around EUR 1.9 million, while additional investments of some EUR 1.2 million are planned for the laundry and logistics center. CURANUM AG will rent the building and the property. The savings potential generated by central laundry operations, the central logistics center and shared logistics is in the region of EUR 3 million over a 36 month period. After this, the management board expects savings of the same volume per ongoing operating year.
CURANUM AG is a Prime Standard listed operator of care facilities, and will also be listed on the SDAX Small-Cap-Index as of December 19, 2005. The corporation will be participating in the bidding for the sale of the company pflegen & wohnen Betriebs GmbH which is operating 12 care facilities in Hamburg.
