Frankfurt am Main, May 29, 2006 - Neue Sentimental Film AG (German Securities Code (WKN) 534140), a leading international media company for the production of advertising films and TV formats recorded significantly higher revenues in the first quarter of 2006. Disclosed revenues totaled EUR 9.6 million, up 35 % on Q1 2005 (EUR 7.0 million). After adjustment for the operations which were still disclosed in Q1 2005, but which had been discontinued by the end of fiscal year 2005, this represents an increase of around 58%.
The operating result (EBIT) was still slightly negative at -EUR 0.05 million, however it is a substantial improvement on Q1 2005 (EUR 0.4 million) - up 87%. This result includes one-off charges from reorganization activities, as well as cost elements which will be removed over the course of the year.
Net earnings totaled -EUR 0.1 million, up 67%.
The company continues to be optimistic for the current fiscal year 2006 and believes that EBIT will be positive over the year.
