Neue Sentimental Film AG (ISIN: DE0005341408), a leading, international media company for the production of advertising films and TV formats, continued the positive trend set in the first quarter of 2006. Sales were 17% up year-on-year to EUR 8.7 million (previous year: EUR 7.4 million). After adjustment for the discontinued operations that were still included in the result but which had been discontinued by the end of 2005, the increase is around 24%.
EBIT was up substantially compared to Q2 2005 by EUR 0.54 million (117%) to EUR 0.08 million. Earnings for the period in the second quarter of 2006 totaled EUR -0.11 million, and were thus up by EUR 0.15 million (59%) compared to Q2 2005.
Sales for the first six months were also up on the previous year by 26% from EUR 14.4 million to EUR 18.2 million. This means that EBIT is also positive at the end of the first six months at EUR 0.03 million.
Earnings for the period at the end of the first half totaled EUR -0.23 million, up 65% compared to June 30, 2005. This includes the non-cash reversal of deferred tax assets resulting from the positive earnings at individual subsidiaries.
