Valeo at the Paris Auto Show
Paris, France (ots/PRNewswire)
- Three Domains of innovation for easy driving; A new logo reflecting renewed ambition
The new technologies presented by Valeo at the Paris Auto Show (Mondial de L'Automobile) already equip series production vehicles. This confirms the appropriateness of the Group's strategy to develop global solutions which improve safety, comfort and driving pleasure while at the same time reducing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. To implement this strategy successfully Valeo has chosen to integrate its systems and services within three Domains: Driving Assistance, Powertrain Efficiency and Comfort Enhancement.
Innovations for well-being, safety and the respect of the environment
- Driving Assistance: solutions for safer vehicles.
The technologies within this Domain are intended to monitor the vehicle's perimeter, inform the driver and other road users about the vehicle's immediate environment and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Powertrain Efficiency: Solutions for cleaner, more efficient, more economical vehicles. This Domain covers systems for enhancing vehicle performance and driving pleasure, and minimizing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.
Comfort Enhancement: Solutions for more comfortable vehicles.
This Domain aims to make vehicle use more practical and comfortable and is devoted to vehicle access and safety, and to the comfort and well-being of its occupants.
"This transversal approach allows Valeo to bring innovative systems quickly into the marketplace such as "Start-Stop" and the Lane Departure Warning System," said Thierry Morin, Valeo Chairman & CEO.
New vehicle models equipped by Valeo
The Start-Stop system, fitted on a version of the Citroën C3 and on the Hyundai concept car ECO Getz 1.1 CRDi, represents a world first, as do the fixed central controls on the steering wheel and the infrared lane departure warning system co-developed with Citroën for the C4.
This latest model - just like the new Citroën C5 - also features Bi-Xenon directional headlamps designed and produced by Valeo. These ensure optimum lighting in all conditions in particular in bends.
The LED headlamps on the Renault Fluence highlight the imagination and know-how of the Group's engineers. The design of these directional headlamps contributes to the elegance of this concept car.
"All these systems optimize the safety, comfort and performance of the vehicles of today and tomorrow. To put it simply, they enable you to drive with peace of mind," adds Thierry Morin.
A new logo: sign of an ambition based on innovation
After three years spent turning around its financial situation, Valeo confirms its strategic project to become one of the world's five leading automotive equipment suppliers. Valeo's growth will be driven by its technologies, its development in high growth potential markets and the strengthening of its aftermarket business. A new logo symbolizes this ambition. "The new Valeo logo, more fluid and more dynamic, reflects our renewed ambition and our values of innovation, industrial excellence and respect for the environment," says Thierry Morin.
Valeo is an independent industrial Group fully focused on the design, production and sale of components, integrated systems and modules for cars and trucks.
