Kennecott Agreement Amended
Vancouver, British Columbia (ots/PRNewswire)
Ross River Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: RRM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has signed an amendment to its letter agreement with Kennecott Exploration Company (see press release dated October 6, 2005) extending the date for completion of a formal agreement from December 31, 2005 to February 15, 2006.
The Company has to date completed seven drill holes totalling 2,037 metres of a planned ten-hole 3,000 metre program on the El Pulpo copper project. Operations have been temporarily shut down for the holidays and will resume early in January. The Company had expected to complete the 3,000 metre program prior to the Christmas break but operational delays in the field have delayed the conclusion of the program to early February. In addition, delays in shipping have resulted in only partial assays being received from core shipped to date. Results will be announced when complete assays are available.
The Company recently met with Kennecott on the property to inspect the core and to determine the locations of the next drill holes. Kennecott and the Company are pleased with the progress to date and have agreed to continue testing previously identified targets. Uwe Schmidt P. Geo. is the qualified person managing the drill program.
