Government Contracts
Möglingen (euro adhoc) - USU AG has been awarded the contract for a project
placed out to bid throughout Europe by the German Federal Employment Agency
(Bundesagentur für Arbeit). The purpose of the project is to implement a system
for transparent management of all the agency's 160,000 PC workstations and their
components in use throughout Germany by means of standard software. In addition
to deploying and maintaining the USU software products Valuemation Asset
Manager, Service Request Manager and Contract Manager as well as the SmartTrack
software from the USU subsidiary Aspera, the scope of the project also includes
comprehensive service packages for support, customization, implementation,
further development and upgrades. The overall value of the contract is in the
mid-seven figures. The new IT-based technical inventory management system will
permit comprehensive control and tracking of all IT assets over their entire
lifecyles. The objective is to ensure automated and transparent monitoring of
all processes involving IT assets: from planning, to procurement and
implementation, and on down to eventual disposal. The project will start in the
middle of April 2012 and is to be completed in phases within twelve months.
USU will provide the Federal Employment Agency (FEA) with a barrier-free, fully
integrated overall system for managing its inventory of assets for information
and communications technology (ICT). This new system will replace the existing
COBRA-IM-IT inventory management system. In addition to supporting preliminary
activities for procurement management, USU's standard solution also allows
assignment of all cost and contract information to IT assets throughout their
lifecyles. This solution also includes management of intangible assets,
particularly software licenses. Furthermore, IT financial management at the FEA
will benefit by always having the latest inventory data available to it. The
resulting standardized data records will thus allow necessary information to be
readily provided to the Valuemation modules for cost accounting/performance
analysis, IT calculations, budgeting and financial planning.
"We´re pleased that the Federal Employment Agency, Germany´s largest government
agency, is deploying Valuemation as the centralized system for managing its IT
assets. This current project is one of the largest European IT asset and license
management projects ever undertaken by USU. This contract is yet another
important milestone in the history of USU and once again demonstrates the high
level of trust in the technology, expertise as well as service and support
available from USU," stressed Sven Wilms, the Member of the Board of Management
for Business Service Management at USU AG.
