Nissan Europe Reports August Sales

Nissan Europe reported total sales of 31,726 vehicles (1) in August 2004, an increase of 4% over the same month last year.
In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan Europe sold 361,839 units, 5.3% up from last year.
Highlights by Country
- Nissan in France sold 2,525 units in August, registering a 5.2% increase compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan sold 31,429 units in France, up by 7.1% compared to last year.
- In Germany, Nissan sold 5,840 units in August, representing an increase of 8% compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan sold 43,883 units in Germany, 6.3% down from last year.
- In Italy, Nissan sold 2,415 units in August, representing a decrease of 22.9% compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan sales in Italy rose to 52,501 units, up by 8.7% compared to last year.
- Nissan in Spain sold 4,207 units in August, up by 9.8% compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 44,367 units up by 14.4% compared to last year.
- In the UK, Nissan sold 3,335 units, an increase of 8.1% compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan's sales in the UK fell to 64,466 units, down 5% compared to last year.
- In Russia, Nissan sold 2,770 units, an increase of 240% compared to last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, Nissan's sales in Russia rose to 16,449 units, up 188% compared to last year
Model Highlights
- The Micra was Nissan's best-selling European model with a total of 8,006 unit sales in August representing a decrease of 10.4% against the same month last year. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, total Micra sales reached 113,294 units, up by 8.3% compared to last year.
- X-TRAIL sales increased by 14% in August against the same month last year to 3,758 units. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, total X-TRAIL sales reached 41,475 units, up by 30.8% compared to last year.
- Pickup sales decreased by 15.3% in August against the same month last year to 2,789 units. In the eight month period from January to August 2004, total Pickup sales reached 28,093 units, up by 14.8% compared to last year
