Nissan Europe Reports July Sales

Nissan Europe reported total sales of 49,381 vehicles(1) in July 2005, an increase of 10.2% over the same month last year.
In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan Europe sold 336,791 units, 2% up from last year.
- Highlights by Country
- Nissan in France sold 4,490 units in July, registering a 22% increase compared to last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan sold 30,577 units in France, up by 5.8% compared to last year.
- In Germany, Nissan sold 5,112 units in July, representing a decrease of 1.4% compared to last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan sold 32,341 units in Germany, 5% down from last year.
- In Italy, Nissan sold 5,459 units in July, down 10.5% against last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan sales in Italy fell to 38,263 units, down by 23.6% compared to last year.
- In Russia, Nissan sold 5,316 units in July, up 58.3% against last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan sales in Russia rose to 25,114 units, up by 83.6% compared to last year.
- Nissan in Spain sold 7,310 units in July, up 5.6% compared to last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 44,124 units up by 9.9% compared to last year.
- In the UK, Nissan sold 8,270 units, an increase of 17.9% compared to last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, Nissan's sales in the UK reached 63,171 units, up 3.3% compared to last year.
- Model Highlights
- The Micra sold 14,928 units in July representing an increase of 9% against the same month last year. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, total Micra sales reached 101,657 units, down 3.4% compared to last year.
- X-TRAIL sales increased by 12.6% in July against the same month last year to 5,348 units. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, total X-TRAIL sales reached 36,878 units, down by 2.2% compared to last year.
- Pickup sales decreased by 33.5% in July against the same month last year to 2,180 units. In the seven month period from January to July 2005, total Pickup sales reached 20,838 units, down 17.6% compared to last year
Nissan employs around 12,000 people in its European design, research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales and marketing operations. Last year, the company produced a total of 448,513 vehicles in its Spanish and British plants and sold 543,948 vehicles in Europe. Nissan Europe's Head Office is based in Trappes (Paris), France.
