St Helier, Jersey, 14 July 2008: Meinl European Land Limited ("MEL"
or the "Company") notes the announcement of the Jersey Financial
Services Commission ("JFSC") today that the JFSC has appointed two
inspectors to investigate the activities of the Company and its
manager, Meinl European Real Estate Limited, in particular in
relation to the alleged provision of financial assistance by the
Company to itself.The Company does not believe that it is in breach of Jersey law and intends to cooperate with the inspectors in order to bring the investigation to a swift and satisfactory conclusion.
The extraordinary general meeting and annual general meeting of the Company scheduled for 16 July 2008 in Jersey will proceed as scheduled.
