Bechtle acquires Swiss systems house ALSO COMSYT AG
Gaildorf, 05.02.2004. Bechtle acquires from the Swiss company ALSO HOLDING AG all shares of its Swiss systems house ALSO COMSYT AG with executive offices at Dübendorf (Canton of Zurich). With expected sales of over 72 mill. CHF (approx. 46 mill. Euro) and at least a balanced EBIT for fiscal 2004, a staff of about 400 and a network comprising three business centres in Basle, Zurich and Lausanne, as well as eleven service centres located throughout Switzerland, COMSYT is one of Switzerland's largest systems houses. The systems house provides IT services and solutions for client/server infrastructure and caters mainly to large-scale enterprises.
With this acquisition, the Bechtle Group significantly expands its market presence in Switzerland and, with a staff of over 600, expects to achieve sales of about 300 mill. CHF (approx. 192 mill. Euro) in this market in fiscal 2004. Through the combination of the service business of Comsyt and the trading business, on which both of Bechtle's Swiss companies ARP and Comsoft are concentrating, Bechtle expects to achieve a sustainable improvement in earnings with the purchase of Comsyt. The present management will remain with the company, thus ensuring continuity in the business development of Comsyt. Both parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The separation of the systems house segment will enable the ALSO Group to concentrate on its core activities of distribution and logistics services.
