Major order for RUAG police ammunition from the Netherlands

In a public invitation to tender, RUAG Ammotec, a subsidiary of the RUAG technology group, has won a major order for its 9 mm "Action" ammunition from the Royal Netherlands Constabulary. The order is worth 17 million euros. RUAG's newly developed product, which is based on Sintox technology, saw off competition from six other European bidders. RUAG Ammotec is Europe's leading supplier of small calibre ammunition and has production sites in Thun (Switzerland), Fürth (Germany) and Amotfors (Sweden). It also supplies a large proportion of the ammunition purchased by German and Swiss authorities. Apart from the authorities, the other main users of RUAG's high-quality products are hunters and marksmen.
