initplan GmbH a 100% subsidiary of init innovation in traffic systems AG will take over the "Interplan" division including personnel of PTV AG from Karlsruhe as of January 1, 2008. A contract to that effect was signed today. It was agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed.
Interplan is a business planning system for transportation companies, which covers all areas of the business. In addition to timetabling, the system can also be used for vehicle and work scheduling and management, for example. Furthermore, Interplan includes modules that allow other aspects such as taxi dispatch or disabled passengers surveys.
The decision to acquire the "Interplan" division was based on strategic considerations. Complementing the company´s own product, MOBILE-PLAN, the system perfectly fits into the product portfolio of the Karlsruhe-based telematics specialist. The acquisition will thus further strengthen the planning systems segment of the company.
With almost 100 national and international customers initplan GmbH is now one of the leading suppliers of business planning systems for transportation companies.
