At today's meeting of the Süd-Chemie AG Supervisory Board, its Chairman, Dr. Dietrich Schulz, 75, informed that for reasons of age, he would be retiring from his position as member of the Supervisory Board with effect from the close of the company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting to be held on 30 May 2008.
The Süd-Chemie AG Supervisory Board thanked Dr. Schulz for his many years as an active member of the board and acknowledged his great service to the company. Dr. Schulz has been a Supervisory Board member since 1977, acting as Deputy Chairman from 1988 to 1992 and from 1999 to 2006. Since 2006, he had headed the Süd-Chemie AG Supervisory Board as Chairman.
In addition to Dr. Schulz's resignation, the appointment of Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Utz-Hellmuth Felcht to the Supervisory Board, which was approved by the registrar of companies at Munich Local Court following an application by Süd-Chemie AG's Supervisory Board and Managing Board, will also expire at the close of the company´s Annual General Meeting. As a result, two Supervisory Board members must be newly elected by Süd-Chemie shareholders. At the Annual General Meeting to be held on 30 May 2008, the Supervisory Board will therefore be proposing that Professor Dr. Felcht, Partner of One Equity Partners Europe GmbH, Munich and Mr. Christopher von Hugo, Managing Partner of One Equity Partners Europe GmbH, Frankfurt am Main be elected to the Supervisory Board.
