BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., September 13, 2006 - Spark Networks plc (Prime Standard Frankfurt: MHJG; AMEX: LOV), a leading provider of online personals services, announced today the appointment of Adam Berger, former President and CEO of WeddingChannel.com Inc.; Jonathan Bulkeley, CEO of Scanbuy, Inc.; Christopher Gaffney, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Great Hill Partners; Scott Sassa, "CEO in Residence" of Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers to its Board of Directors. In addition, David Siminoff, the companys CEO and a current director, was appointed Chairman of the Board. The company also announced the resignation of Scott Shleifer from its Board. This extensive enhancement of Sparks Board of Directors with experts from the Internet and Finance Industry leads the company into the next phase of its development.
Other members of Spark Networks Board of Directors include: Michael Brown, Managing Partner at Alcalde & Fay; Martial Chaillet, Founder of MediaWin & Partners; Benjamin Derhy, a private investor and entrepreneur; Michael Kumin, Partner with Great Hill Partners; and Laura Lauder, General Partner with Lauder Partners.
