announces the closing of its rights issue subscription period

SkyEurope Holding AG ("SkyEurope") today closed the subscription
period for its 10 million shares rights offering amounting to EUR
17.5 million, with a take-up of 91% by holders of subscription
rights. Against a background of very strong demand, the remaining
shares were allocated to a number of high quality existing
shareholders and new investors. Closing of the rights issue is
expected to occur on 27 September 2006. The rights issue, together
with the EUR 38.8 million equity and equity-linked investment from
York Global Finance II S.à r.l. ("York"), will enable SkyEurope to
raise total gross proceeds of EUR 56.3 million. UBS Investment Bank
and CA IB have acted as lead managers of the rights issue and
arrangers of the York investment. Linklaters and Weber Maxl &
