Laurent Burdin, most recently Managing Director of Consulting at Springer & Jacoby in Hamburg, will take over the same position at SinnerSchrader as of 2 May 2007. After 12 years with Euro RSCG and S&J, the 43-year-old Frenchman is now setting his sights on the Internet. "For a marketing man such as myself, an interactive agency is definitely the most exciting place to be right now."
"Marketing is undergoing a fundamental change. The Internet is becoming the key marketing medium for many industries and brands," explained SinnerSchrader CEO Matthias Schrader, discussing the appointment of the internationally recognised marketing expert.
Burdin himself has long been convinced that the future of marketing will be interactive and digital. "The Web is the number one media channel for experiencing and purchasing brands, products, information and entertainment. This is what consumers have decided, and this has been my choice as well," he said of his shift of focus, a pioneering step in the industry.
Laurent Burdin has a business administration degree (EAP Paris-Oxford-Berlin) and was most recently Managing Director of Springer & Jacoby in Hamburg. Prior to this, he established and managed Springer & Jacoby France, among other things. Before joining S&J, he was Managing Director of Euro RSCG in Düsseldorf.
Parallel to the appointment of Burdin, SinnerSchrader is reorganising its business units. The previously independent Technology and Creative units are being consolidated under the SinnerSchrader agency brand. The position of Managing Director at Technology will be taken over by Holger Blank, who was formerly Managing Director of SinnerSchrader Neue Informatik. Matthias Schrader will remain Management Spokesman, while Thomas Dyckhoff will continue to hold the position of CFO.
