Karlsruhe, 25 June 2007 - asknet AG (ISIN: DE0005173306), one of the leading providers of outsourcing solutions for global software distribution via the Internet (Electronic Software Distribution - ESD), has won several new customers.
With Sunbelt Software and ParetoLogic, another two major US software providers have opted for the asknet eDistribution solutions. In the second quarter of 2007, the European online shops of these two providers of security software were transferred to the asknet technology platform.
Furthermore, asknet succeeded in adding the German software provider AquaSoft, which offers programs in the graphics, multimedia, image database and learning software fields, as well as the Spanish software dealer tekoem to its customer base. For tekoem, a variety of dealer shops will be set up successively with asknet technology and handling of transactions will be transferred from the third quarter of 2007 onwards.
The Russian software provider ABBYY is expanding its existing partnership with asknet. The company is one of the leading providers of document recognition, form processing and linguistic software and has already been handling its online sales in Europe through asknet for two years. The second quarter of 2007 now also saw the launch of ABBYY´s US shop based on asknet technology.
With these new additions to its business, asknet will realise an additional sales potential of some EUR 7 million on a whole-year basis.
In the ePortals business segment also, a new customer has been added. TU Berlin is another university that has opted for using asknet´s established portals for the academic sector. Via its specially designed procurement portals, asknet supplies over 70% of German universities with software products.
