15 May 2008 - With its voluntary undertaking to publish quarterly reports and information on directors` dealings, asknet AG establishes a greater degree of transparency. The company, which is listed in the Entry Standard, is the world´s second largest provider of outsourcing solutions for software distribution via the Internet.
The conclusion of agreements with altogether five medium-sized, growth-oriented new clients marked a successful start into the first quarter 2008 for the asknet Group.
In the first quarter 2008, asknet introduced the Web 2.0 Shop solution as a technological innovation which makes web shopping more user-friendly through shorter download times, a new layout etc.
The asknet Group generated sales revenues of EUR 18.5 million during the first quarter 2008, which represents a plus of some 73% compared to the same period of the previous year. The Group´s service revenues came to EUR 2.3 million, up 34%.
The 68.1% share of sales revenues to end customers generated abroad (previous year 53.4%) once more confirms the increasingly international orientation of the asknet Group. In the US in particular, significant increases were achieved in spite of the weakening dollar.
In the next few quarters, the company will focus on increasing the number of new customers and confirming the scalability of its business model.
