- Newly created position of strategic importance - Emphasis on expanding services to leverage additional business opportunities
Karlsruhe, Germany, December 16, 2010 -- asknet, a leading provider of global eCommerce solutions for software vendors, has appointed Christof Stuhlmann, an eCommerce expert with extensive experience, as new Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the EMEA and APAC regions. This new position was created in the context of asknet´s strategy of continually expanding its portfolio of products and services to encompass additional business opportunities. For example, asknet has leveraged its technological and industry expertise to integrate previously non-digital distribution channels into its online shops. In asknet´s last quarterly report, the company had already announced its intention of systematically moving in this direction. In keeping with this strategy, company CEO Michael Scheib calls the decision to hire Christof Stuhlmann "the right step going forward as we expand and grow asknet AG."
Before joining asknet, Christof Stuhlmann had held an executive position at software vendor Nuance Communications since 1999; his area of focus was the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. Now he is looking forward to the interesting opportunities offered by his new position. "asknet AG is one of the leading suppliers of eCommerce solutions for providers of digital content. Of course most of these vendors already sell their products online, but the market potential of this distribution channel is still far from being exhausted. This is an area where vendors could profit much more than they already do." One example named by Stuhlmann was the inclusion of a reseller sales channel in the online shop of Norwegian software vendor NORMAN ASA, which has numbered among asknet´s clients since October 2010. Integrating a previously non-digital distribution channel into the eShop greatly simplifies the software vendor´s transactions with retailers. Such new as well as existing services are made possible by asknet's vast technological expertise. "asknet AG´s technological know-how is highly impressive, and the company is building on this knowledge to expand our existing business," says Stuhlmann. "At the same time, it allows us to come up with exciting new solutions, for example Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers.
According to asknet, Christof Stuhlmann´s extensive experience with software vendors, his network of contacts, and his international focus made him the perfect choice for the new position. His responsibilities will include the expansion of the company´s eDistribution business and the evaluation of new business segments.
