U.S. ARMY TO TAKE
DELIVERY OF 170 VEHICLES WORTH USD 34.9 m
26 TOP-OF-THE-RANGE AIR CRASH TENDERS FOR SPAIN

Following a stringent selection process, the US Army has awarded Rosenbauer America a contract to supply 170 fire-fighting vehicles worth a total of USD 34.9 m. The bulk of the production work on these fire-fighters and emergency tenders will be carried out in the USA and completed by the end of 2005.
Rosenbauers success story in the USA, the worlds biggest market for fire-equipment, began in 1995 when the Group took a stake in General Safety, an innovative manufacturer positioned - in terms of both quality and price - at the top end of the market. The acquisition of the municipal vehicle manufacturer Central States in 1998, and then of the turntable-ladder and elevating-platform producer RK Aerials in 2000, turned Rosenbauer into a true "full-liner".
Now, less than 10 years later, the Group already produces more than 400 vehicles a year in the USA, giving it a market share of around 10% and putting it among the leading local manufacturers.
PANTHERS TO GO ON GUARD AT SPANISH AIRPORTS
At the same time as its success in the USA, Rosenbauer has won yet another major international order, this time in Spain: Rosenbauer International AG yesterday signed an agreement with the Spanish airport operator and air-traffic control company AENA to supply 26 PANTHER air crash tenders with a total value of EUR 16.2 m.
The order is for two different top-of-the-range models of air crash tender:
16 Panther 8x8's on MAN custom chassis 10 Panther 6x6's on Rosenbauer Motors chassis
The vehicles ordered are to be deployed at major international airports such as Madrid and Barcelona as well as airports of holiday destinations such as Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas, Tenerife and Malaga.
These two major orders take the volume of orders on hand in the Rosenbauer Group to a new record level, paving the way for a highly successful 2005.
