Leonding (euro adhoc) - Following a purchase in 2011, blue danube airport linz
has again opted for top quality from Rosenbauer, the fire industry technology
leader, in the shape of a second PANTHER 6x6, which has now been put into
operation as part of even stricter safety measures. This latest sale is one of
the more than 1,100 deliveries to over 80 nations through which the PANTHER has
proven its operational excellence and established a market reputation as the
world's most advanced ARFF.
The first PANTHER with a Volvo EURO engine
The new PANTHER has a 6-cylinder, rear-mounted engine with around 700hp and
therefore, in spite of a weight of 39t, is capable of accelerating from 0-80
km/h within 30 seconds. The truck carries 12,500l of water, 1,500l of foam and
500kg of powder for fire fighting and also possesses a CO2 unit. However, the
most outstanding feature of the new Linz PANTHER is the fact that it is the
first of its type to be fitted with an original certificated EURO V Volvo
engine.
In addition, the truck is equipped with a front-mounted RM15C monitor and an
RM60C on the roof with an output of 6,000 l/min at 10 bar. In combination with
an integrated R600 pump, these high-performance monitors provide top throw
distance ratings of up to 90m and both can be operated simply and simultaneously
via a joystick. Other comfort and safety features include surrounding area
lighting, LED lighting in the crew cabin, a quick start via the driver's door
and a reversing camera.
