Nordex has been awarded two new orders and a frame agreement from one of its key customers, Greentech Energy Systems A/S. Nordex is to supply and install 135 turbines from the N90 and N100 series with a total capacity of 330 megawatts (MW). The orders are worth more than EUR 350 million.
The Brindisi project with a capacity of 80.5 MW will be supplied with 35 units of the N90/2300 turbine in 2009. The first construction phase of the Candela project will consist of 20 N100/2500 units. This turbine is the most recent product and a further development of the existing N90 turbine. The frame agreement of 200 MW comprises the supply of 40 N90/2500 units and 40 N100/2500 units, delivery will be in 2010. The extension phase for the Candela project consisting of 20 N100/2500 units will be supplied under this frame agreement.
"The new orders confirm our positive projections for the growth market Italy and for the N100/2500, which suits ideally the market", says Carsten Pedersen, COO Sales and Marketing at Nordex. "The contract is an important step to secure supply to the projects, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2010", comments Kaj Larsen, CEO of Greentech Energy Systems.
